Grant Mechanisms for Postdoctoral Training Programs (NIH):
A T32 can support graduate students in Ph.D. programs or postdoctorates, and an R25 can be used to support graduate students (at the Ph.D. level), postdoctoral fellows, and early-stage faculty (within eight years of their first faculty appointment). Your department can also use diversity supplements to support eligible postdocs from under-represented groups in the U.S.
Grant Mechanisms for Postdocs on Training Grants (NIH):
K series awards are designed to help postdocs become independent scientists and provide opportunities for research and publishing. These types of awards may be important in some universities for obtaining faculty positions. National Institutes of Health (NIH)
The National Institute of Health provides the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards (NRSA) for Individual Postdoctoral Fellowships, also known as the F32. Through these fellowships, F32 fellowships provide up to three years of support for promising postdoctoral researchers who have the potential to become productive, independent investigators within the broad scope of biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research.
